Participant Comments Received:
(1) Dear Mr. Hicks,
We wanted to thank you for hosting the welcome event for Kings Point Plebes. We found the event interesting, informative and fun. We also enjoyed meeting and talking with some of the KP alumni in attendance. Our younger children were especially impressed with your level of energy. You are a good lesson in physics: that an object in motion will remain in motion until acted upon.
We look forward to seeing you again,
Regards,
Joe and Phyllis Vita (Aloysius 2015), Davidsonville, MD
(2) Dear Gary:
Thank you for inviting Jeff and me to the KP Alumni Plebe Welcome yesterday. We are so glad we were able to attend. The day provided a wonderful perspective on what a total Kings Point life journey can be, and I know that the memories of the speakers and the warm welcome will help sustain Jeff and all his fellow plebe-candidates during indoc and beyond.
I have a number of pictures to add to your collection from the day. The file sizes are quite large, however, so they will only go one or two at a time. Thus, I'll be following this email up with two others to get you the best of what I had.
Look forward to seeing you and the KP alumni family again soon.
With kindest regards,
Susan Michaelson (Jeffrey 2015), Radnor, PA
(3) Gary;
Great job Saturday……many kids are less nervous because of the time your team dedicated to Kings Point…..
Many thanks from a grateful Dad!
Tom Lindsay (Thomas Lindsay NMMI ’12), Severna Park, MD
(4) Good Morning Mr. Hicks,
I just wanted to thank you again for giving us the opportunity to see and hear about Kings Point. My son was truly inspired, and is now going ahead with the application process. He currently has 3.1, he is an excellent sailor, and excels in history, but has not been motivated (until now).
Again, thank you for the opportunity, you and your wife were so kind! I look forward to seeing the campus, we will try to schedule a visit this summer or fall.
Deborah L. Ross (Richard “Oliver” – Applicant ’16), Smithfield, VA
(5) Dear Mr. Hicks,
Hi my name is John Young. I remember speaking to you last week at the KP Alumni Plebe welcome in Maryland. I am a junior in high school, not a plebe yet. I wanted to thank you for inviting me. It was a very informative day and I learned a lot more about what to expect after graduating from the academy. One other thing that impressed me was how involved the Chesapeake Chapter of the Alumni Association is when it comes to their Kings Pointers. You're like a second family. Thanks again and I hope to meet with you again in the future.
Sincerely,
John Young (Applicant ’16), Watchung, NJ
(6) Dear Sir,
We were very pleased to attend the welcome luncheon for the class of 2015. Our son, Christian, will be beginning his journey this July. Our oldest son, Bob, is in the class of 2012.
The luncheon was a wonderful experience for us. Everyone was so friendly and the speakers very informative.
You will find our KP Chesapeake Chapter membership application and payment attached. Thank you for the opportunity to help support this organization.
Andy and Loretta Nolt (Robert 2012, Christian 2015), Lititz, PA
(7) Dear Mr. Hicks:
Thank you so much for inviting my family and me to the Welcome Luncheon at MITAGS. We all had a wonderful time, and I learned a lot about the Maritime Industry. Now, I am even more excited to go to Kings Point after Prep School next year !
Sincerely,
Katie Collins (NMMI ’12), Reading PA
(8) Dear Gary and Joanne:
Thank you for your kindness to our senior cadet, Sean Wissler, at the recent Plebe Welcome Event.
As Sean told you, The Delaware Military Academy is preparing for the sixth commencement ceremony on Friday. Both Sean and I would be honored to have you participate in this event with us.
As you know, USMMA's Superintendent, RADM Phillip H. Greene will be our commencement speaker. The kind of personal friendship and encouragement that you have extended to Cadet Sean Wissler has been an essential element in our success, so Cadet Wissler and I would be honored if you would share the evening with us. Please call my office or e-mail me to allow us to reserve a place for you in our VIP section.
Sincerely,
COL Jack Wintermantel – Superintendent, Delaware Military Academy
(9) Mr. & Mrs. Hicks, I talked to my graduation coordinator, Mr. Mulqueen, today and he said that he is pleased to invite you as VIP guests. Once again DMA graduation is this Friday at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington. I look forward to seeing you there.
Sincerely,
Sean Wissler (NMMI ’12) Newark, DE
(10) Mr. & Mrs. Hicks,
Thank you for attending graduation and for surprising myself and Cadet Capodanno with the honor coins. It was very special and satisfying to be recognized for our accomplishment in attending Kings Point. I can't wait to start my training and studies at NMMI and am eager to explore a new area of the country. I was also hoping that you could send me the pictures that you took at graduation.
Sincerely,
Sean Wissler (NMMI ’12) Newark, DE
