KP Mariner Athletic Events in Maryland!  

The KP Chesapeake Chapter is eager to support our Midshipman Athletes, our Mariner Teams and Coaches as our KP Mariners compete against the Landmark Conference schools in Maryland.  This is a time-honored tradition for the Chesapeake Chapter Alumni Members, and a cornerstone of our Mission Support to Kings Point.

Please find listed below the Mariner Sports events in Maryland which are currently scheduled. 

We have also listed those KP Mariner Sports events scheduled at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.  We appreciate the KP Chesapeake membership attendance and cooperation, as the KP Club of Washington D.C. supports these events.

We strongly encourage our KP Alumni Members, our Parents and all interested parties to attend the games and support our Midshipmen.  Additionally, we are prepared to provide a reception for the teams, if requested by the coaches, and coordinated with their schedules and game / travel logistics.

In the event that no specific team reception is scheduled, we will provide a welcome and congratulations meeting with the teams and coaches following the competition.  If a reception is to be scheduled, the details will be provided as a separate e-mailing with payment information and details posted to our web site.

September 1, 2011: Mariners win soccer season opener, 1-0

THROGGS NECK, N.Y. – One of the most unique winning streaks in college soccer continued on Thursday night as the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy won after taking a boat ride to a game.  The Mariners extended their winning streak to five games when they travel by sea after taking a short ride from Kings Point, N.Y. to Throggs Neck, where they recorded a 1-0 non-conference victory over SUNY-Maritime in their season-opener.

benefiting the men and women of the U.S Merchant Marine Academy and its Department of Athletics. The 2012 Baltimore Heidmar Blue & Gray Golf Classic will take place on Tuesday, October 16 at Bulle Rock in Havre De Grace, Md. Former home of the McDonald's LPGA Championships, Bulle Rock, from a pure golfing perspective, is most likely the top design on our tour. With 57 golfers in 2010, 94 golfers in 2011, this event will most likely jump well past 100 golfers in 2012. Don't miss this great opportunity to golf with your buddies and or clients and play at one of the top courses in the country.

Not a golfer?
If you are not a golfer, volunteer and help coordinate the event. If you can't make it during the day, visit us after the golf and join us for the post-golf reception. If you like to golf, but don't have a golfing partner, so what; we will place you in a foursome. We make the outings about having fun and giving back. Don't get left out, join our tour this year and give us a chance.

The Heidmar Blue & Gray Golf Classics are golf tournaments that benefit the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and its Department of Athletics. The events are coordinated during the calendar year and serve U.S. Merchant Marine Academy alumni, parents, maritime organizations and friends of the Academy.

Heidmar Inc., the tour's National Title Sponsor, leads a string of national sponsors that provide critical support to the outings. Heidmar is a successful tanker vessel trader, a leading worldwide commercial manager of tankers and a marine services provider to the energy industry. Located in Norwalk (Conn.), Heidmar employs eight Merchant Marine Academy graduates.

The proceeds benefit the men and women midshipmen who represent the Academy on the intercollegiate athletic fields. The proceeds also benefit the entire physical education department which affects the entire regiment.
